Community Energy in St Albans District
Can we kickstart community energy in St Albans District?
Ever thought that a big building near you should have solar panels? Maybe you think that every school, community centre, leisure centre and industrial estate should have solar energy generated from its own rooftop to save money and carbon emissions for the building users? Would you like to know how a community can come together to make that happen?
If so, come along to this webinar to find out more about what community energy can do for your community, how you can get involved and what the opportunities are to put community-owned solar on buildings in the St Albans District Council area.
Kirsty Shanahan from Community Energy Pathways will introduce the concept of community energy, explain how it works and why the community benefits. She will also talk through the work St Albans District Council has been doing to explore the potential for community energy in the District. There will be the opportunity for you to suggest rooftops on large or public buildings that might work for community-owned solar as well as ask questions about how a community energy group works and what is needed to get one established.
