Cotlandswick is one of the Everyone Active leisure centres in the District. This site is in London Colney and is made up of eight 3G five-a-side football pitches, as well as a seven-a-side pitch, alongside a sports hall all of which are very well used. Everyone Active is committed to helping St Albans City & District Council reach their Net Zero Goals so have been making efforts to make their sites across the District more sustainable.
As part of this effort Cotlandswick Leisure Centre are making changes to save energy. Under the previous operator all pitches were lit via halogen bulbs, but Cotlandswick are now in the process of converting all of these to LEDs. These lights will provide a 25% saving for each pitch that is converted!
Currently four of the nine pitches at the site have been converted to LED lights and Cotlandswick is committed to converting the remaining five pitches over the next few years.
