Our Planet Our Future – Welcome to the Green House

The district’s first eco hub is celebrating 9 months since opening last April and has become a valuable resource for residents in the district to find out how to live more sustainably.   With a physical presence in the heart of St Albans at 46 London Road, open 7 days a week 10:30 -5:30, there is something for everyone, where everyone is guaranteed to feel welcome.

Find out what the brand new St Albans eco hub can do for you as we take a tour through the facilities available including;
-specialist recycling points,
-regular events and workshops with professionals,
-celebrating the achievements during the first nine months of opening,
-and our exciting plans for the future.

Grab a friend and join Our Planet Our Future for a relaxed and inspiring evening at 7:30 pm on Tuesday 14th January at the Plough & Harrow in Harpenden.

What to expect

Whether you want to pop in to drop off medicine blister packs for recycling or visit us for advice on greening your home or caring for nature, you will find a wealth of resources available, many of which will also help you save money too.
Hard to recycle items such as toothbrush heads, printer ink cartridges and used spectacles are accepted.

Regular events take place including:

-meeting professionals who can offer advice on eco renovation,

-a variety of workshops such as how to use up leftover ingredients in innovative ways,

-a clothing repair cafe for mending/ alterations,

-tackling eco anxiety with an eco themed board games cafe for all ages,

-a positive action youth climate club,

-and a sister branch of our highly successful Our Planet Our Future eco book club has been launched.
