St Albans Greener Together Presents The Week
St Albans Greener Together invites you to take part in The Week, a group experience that deepens understanding of climate change and what ordinary people can do about it.
Register on the Eventbrite link. Please register for all three events as each event build son the last. There will also be a follow-up meeting of 90 minutes to 2 hours to discuss collective actions.
What is The Week?
Over 55,000 people have participated in The Week, a nonprofit project to promote discussions about the climate emergency, its impacts, the feelings this provokes, and the action people decide to take together. You can watch the introduction video and find out more on their website.
The Week experience organised by St Albans Greener Together
Across the course of a week those who sign up will meet three times online for two hours. In this time, we will watch three films, looking at the related issues of climate change, pollution, overconsumption, and biodiversity loss:
- The Descent explores where we are and is challenging to watch
- The Reckoning considers the implications, good and bad
- The Adventure is an inspiring look at what people are already doing and the many actions that can be taken, and provides useful resources
Each film takes around one hour, followed by a facilitated conversation of up to one hour. The Week will be facilitated by Alison Maitland, a St Albans resident and experienced coach and facilitator.
Those who have taken part have said:
"Awesome! We have hope and shared purpose to pursue sustainability and advance a quality of life for all." (Education & business)
"It's such a rollercoaster, but so valuable as a journey with others to ignite action and engagement." (Executive Coach
The event is free to attend, but The Week welcomes donations from all participants to sustain its work. The current suggested donation is around £25 per person.
Please register at the Eventbrite link.
