Communicating Climate Change

St Albans
St Albans City and District Council has partnered with experts at Climate Outreach to deliver a half-day in-person workshop designed for local community organisations in the St Albans District. Climate Outreach are public engagement and climate communications experts, based on their extensive audience research and insights. We know that many people care about climate change but might feel unsure how it connects to their work or how they can make a difference. This workshop will provide valuable insights and practical tools to help you engage your community:
  • Understand the basics of climate psychology: Learn why emotions and values are key to engaging people.
  • Communicate effectively: Discover how to frame your messages to resonate with your community.
  • Navigate climate conversations: Gain confidence in discussing this important topic.
  • Use visuals for impact: Explore how images can help tell the climate story.
  • Build trust and influence: Learn how your organisation can be a credible voice for positive change.
This in-person, half-day session will be followed by optional drop-in or one-to-one sessions, to support you as you start to apply these insights directly to your organisation’s work. This is a fantastic chance to:
  • Gain valuable communication skills
  • Network with other local organisations
  • Empower your organisation to inspire positive climate action within your community
  • Connect your existing work to a critical global issue
  • Contribute to your sustainability and CSR Goals
Please register for the event in order to receive full details at EVENTBRITE. The event will be held in a central St Albans location accessible by train and bus. Please send any enquiries or questions directly to Morgan Smith at morgan.smith@climateoutreach.org.
